Large capacity industrial battery so few or even just one string is needed for normal sized systems. Several inches of reserve electrolyte above the plates means infrequent watering is needed.

This battery is similar to what Tom at Backwoods has been using for his full time off grid residence since 2006. A single 24 volt string (12-2 volt in series) gives the same capacity as almost 28 L-16 sized batteries which would require 7 parallel strings and would have 84 cells to water and do hydrometer readings! Hydrometer readings and adding water can be done in no more than 15 minutes making routine maintanance a snap!
